The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness. – Lao Tzu
Today I watched an inspiring movie that urged me more than any other to awake from the sleep slumber. The movie did exactly what it intended to do with its viewer – it motivated me to start my own journey toward Samadhi.
What is Samadhi?
Samadhi is a state of consciousnesses where you die before you die. Your ego ceases to exist. It is a state where the dual world ceases to exist. Notions of I and you, up and down, rich and poor, far and close, are only imaginary.
Through the journey to Samadhi we get closer to uncovering our true selves. We learn to observe both the ego and our inner being.
For most people it is a great challenge to be in the state of Samadhi all the time due to endless chores, responsibilities, and distractions. However, if we start accepting the fact that our lives are led (for the most part) by the ego instead of our true nature, we are one step closer to being awakened.
We need to start somewhere. We need to start realizing that the solutions to all problems in the world are within us. As the movie shows, we don’t need wars on terror and wars on famine. What we need is a collective realization that nothing is solved by force, that we need to look deep within ourselves to connect with each other and live harmoniously.
Unfortunately, until we start selecting new leaders who share and promote this view, the suffering in the world will only increase.
