Are you passionate about safeguarding children and if so are you interested in joining a supportive safeguarding team as a Safeguarding Children Advisor?
Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) safeguarding team is seeking to recruit to a Safeguarding Children Advisor post that has become vacant due to the promotion of the current postholder.
As a Safeguarding Children Advisor, you will be required provide specialist safeguarding advice to our frontline staff and managers, deliver safeguarding supervision and to work in partnership to ensure children and young people are safe and protected.
You will need to have experience of working with children in need or who are subject to child protection plans and of partnership working. You will also be required at times to deputise for the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children, which provides an opportunity to increase your strategic reach and influence.
In return we will support you in further developing your safeguarding skills and expertise and there will be ongoing training opportunities through the CLCH Academy.

  • The post holder will provide specialist support to CLCH staff working with vulnerable children and young people. This will include cases of actual or suspected child abuse.
  • The post holder will work closely with all levels of staff in partner agencies, in order to continue to develop a seamless service for local families and children within the local health economy.
  • Directly supervise, support and advice health visiting, school nursing and therapy teams, by the provision of specialist knowledge and advice in relation to the safeguarding of children.
  • The post holder will support the Named Nurses with the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the safeguarding, including the development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits and monitor and collect statistical data in relation to families of high concern and those subject to child protection plans.
