My client is a highly regarded not for profit organisation focusing on the greater good of the environment on a national scope.
The Financial Accountant will:
- Ensure the organisation and it's subsidiaries attain best practice in compliance with legal and accounting reporting standards.
- Assist the production of essential legal and statutory accounts; i.e. annual accounts and annual reports.
- Accurately delivery key managerial/financial data in addition to ensuring key financial controls are operating in an effective manner.
- Assist with the liaison of internal and external auditors, banks, investors, advisers and stake holders.
- Prepare monthly management accounts within a timely manner while ensuring the completion and reporting of reconciliations and controls within an accurate manner.
- Produce monthly KPI's for the team.
- Advocate for deficiencies in relation to transactions, financial accounting and system processes for the organisation.
- Produce guidance and analysis in associated implications in relation to proposed changes, relative to accountancy legislation, policies and government standards.
- Provide guidance in adopting best financial practice, particularly in line with FRS102.
- Aid with the production of of the Group Statutory Accounts and associations on an annual basis, in addition to ensuring exemplary audit reports.
- Prepare and establish management accounts on a monthly basis in addition to KPI's in order to meet the requirements of the organisation amid additional extensive quarterly reports for review and board reports.
- Produce periodic liaison, returns and management accounts for sites and associated Estates staff.
- Observe nonrestrictive reserves of the organisation in line with their budget.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for the CFO.
- Supervise the fixed asset register of the organisation.
- Assure essential financial policies and procedures are accurately documented, regularly reviewed and up to date within financial manuals with a goal to improve efficiency's.
- Assist with the preparation of board papers for i.e. meetings with committees.
- Process bank payments inclusive of planned BACs run.
- Lead the management of reports and core IT systems and reports inclusive of purchase order systems.
- Manage the treasury transactions and policies in line with compliance.
The successful Financial Accountant will be:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience and use of relative accounting standards i.e Charity SORP
- An ability to identify and react to emerging issues.
- Experience within financial accounting and presenting data.
- Experience within the development of systems to optimise usage and increase deficiencies.
- Experience in assisting and delivering projects to tight deadlines.
- The ability to analyse financial issues and interpret information.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload to tight deadlines.
